What is the difference between Imigran and Sumatriptan?

Imigran and Sumatriptan are chemically the same, making them similar drugs. The only notable difference between the 2 medications is the brand name that comes with Imigran, making it more expensive. How does Sumatriptan work?

Sumatriptan contains an active ingredient of the same name, and belongs to a family of medicines called triptans. The treatment works by suppressing signals to your brain which occur during a migraine attack. Sumatriptan adjusts these blood vessels and reduces them back to their regular size, providing relief from the pain.

• Feeling weak or tired
