Product Description

How does Scopoderm work?

Scopoderm contains an active ingredient called hyoscine. Hyoscine belongs to a group of medications called anti-emetics, or anti-sickness medicines. The active ingredient blocks the nausea and prevents you from feeling sick.

Benefits of Scopoderm:

While travelling is very exciting for some people, for others it is not so much. Some people suffer with motion sickness, and are affected in their everyday life, whether they are travelling on public transport, planes, or cars. Motion sickness can disrupt travelling for a lot of people, but Scopoderm helps to prevent this.

How to use Scopoderm:

When using Scopoderm, you should always follow the guidance given to you by doctors, and follow the patient information leaflet that comes with the medication.

Before applying, you should wash your hands and remove the patch from the sachet. After that you should peel the clear backing off and press the sticky side down onto the dry, clean, and hair free skin behind the ear, ensuring that you hold the patch round the edge to avoid touching the sticky substance.

After application, you should wash your hands again and avoid touching the patch after you have applied it. Once your journey is complete, you should simply peel off the patch, and wash your hands again once it is removed.

Scopoderm patches should be worn for up to 3 days at a time, but if you are travelling for longer than this, you can simply remove the current patch and add another after the three days are up. While using the patch you are able to swim and bathe, as long as you have properly applied it.

Scopoderm Dosage:

Scopoderm patches usually come in 1.5mg dosages, but the recommended dosage is one patch every 3 days.

If you forget to use a Scopoderm patch before you are travelling, you should apply it as soon as you remember, but you should never apply more than one patch at once. If you do use too much Scopoderm then you may begin to feel tired, confused, or overexcited. If you feel any of these side effects then you should remove the patches and contact a doctor as soon as possible.

Side effects:

Like any other medicine, Scopoderm comes with the risk of some side effects, but not everybody will experience them. Some of the side effects that this medication can cause are more common than others, but if you suffer any side effects that cause you concern, you should get in touch with your GP or doctor as soon as possible. Some side effects include:

  • Dryness of the mouth
  • Dizziness
