Fluconazole for Men and Women

Fluconazole is a medicine used to treat a fungal infection known as, ‘thrush’. Thrush is a very common yeast infection, it is mostly found in women, but can also affect men. The infection itself, can be aggravated through sexual intercourse, though it is not a sexually transmitted infection, even though it may sometimes be passed on to a partner. This is known as penile thrush (for which Fluconazole is a treatment).

Product Description

How does Fluconazole work?

Fluconazole is an antifungal medication use to treat thrush. It does this by halting the growth of the yeast called Candida and helps to restore your genitals to their natural health.

What are the benefits of Fluconazole?

Thrush is an unpleasant and uncomfortable fungal infection that can cause irritation and pain if left untreated. Fluconazole is a simple and effective solution that works quickly to clear up symptoms. It allows you to return to a healthy state of being where daily life and sex are and much better.

How do I use it?

Because Fluconazole is an over-the-counter medicine which does not require a prescription, it means you can buy it online easily and discreetly. It’s an oral medication that should be taken whole, with a glass of water.

There are a number of lifestyle changes, alongside taking Fluconazole, that will prevent thrush from recurring once you have treated it. These are as follows:

  • Avoid scratching the infected areas as this will damage the surface of the skin and cause the infection to spread further
  • Maintain good genital health by keeping the genital skin areas clean and washing daily
  • Pay particular attention to drying the skin but avoid excessive rubbing
  • Wear cotton underwear and loose-fitting clothing
  • Try to avoid wearing tights, nylon underwear and tight-fitting clothing
  • After going to the toilet, wipe yourself from the front to the back, as a thrush infection may be transferred from the bowel
  • Avoid washing with perfumed soaps or using vaginal deodorants
  • Do not rub hard with sponges or flannels and avoid hot baths with strong perfumed oils
  • Change your sanitary protection regularly

Dosage:

Standard capsules contain a 150mg dosage of Fluconazole, with only a single capsule enough to clear thrush within a week. If it doesn’t then you should contact your GP. You should also contact your GP if you take any more than the recommended or standard dose or if your symptoms get worse or have not gone after a week.

If symptoms initially clear up but then return after 7 days, you can then take another capsule, provided of course you didn’t have an allergic or negative reaction the first time. If you have more than two separate incidents of thrush within six months then you should contact your GP.

Side effects of Fluconazole:

All medications affect individuals differently, so while most users see no side effects, if you do experience one or more of these side effects then tell your GP or pharmacist straight away.
